We seek to enable news publishers to generate new revenues from readers and distributors for their digital content and, because it does not have to be a choice between one revenue source or the another, to restore the optimal mix of circulation and advertising revenue necessary to finance original reporting and editing. For print publishers, this move toward paid access online will also restore the value proposition of the print medium by eliminating the fully free online alternative.

Piano Media acquired Press+ from RR Donnelly in 2014. The company powers digital subscriptions for newspapers, magazines, online-only publishers and video producers around the world, including several of the largest U.S., Canadian, German and British newspaper publishing companies: Digital First Media, McClatchy, M. DuMont Schauberg, Agora A.S., GateHouse Media, Halifax Media, Postmedia, The Independent and DC Thomson.

Partnerships and long term revenue stream
We consider publishers that work with us much more than just customers. We believe in building long-lasting, deep relationships that allow us to support our partners over the long term. We have a unique perspective on the publishing industry that enables us to provide a new revenue stream that does not cannibalize others. Piano takes care to not impact traffic or advertising revenue. Our partners earn between 10-50% of their online revenue from paid content.

Kelly Leach
Chief Executive Officer
Kelly Leach, a Dow Jones veteran, joins Piano Media and Press+ as CEO of the combined companies after being the managing director for Dow Jones in EMEA and publisher for The Wall Street Journal’s European edition. Appointed to her role there in June 2012, she was responsible for the company’s businesses in the EMEA region including Financial News, Dow Jones Energy & Commodities and various regional joint ventures. Previously she was a Dow Jones SVP for strategy where she guided business strategy for consumer and enterprise products across traditional and digital platforms. Ms. Leach joined Dow Jones in 2003 from the Time Inc. division of Time Warner, where she served as manager of marketing and business development for Time.com, Time Magazine’s website. Ms. Leach received a bachelor's degree from Rhodes College and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
Alex Franta
Chief Finance Officer
Alex Franta takes over CFO duties for both Piano Media and Press+ after having gained extensive experience working for the past 15 years in corporate finance management and M&A. In addition to advising companies in M&A situations, Mr. Franta has taken on a number of CFO assignments helping companies with post-merger integration and with the development of internal corporate finance and administrative functions. He was a managing director of the Soravia Group's outdoor advertising business in CEE and a director in the group's equity investment business. Prior to his time at Soravia, he was at Deutsche Bank’s Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Advisory Group in New York. Mr. Franta has a business degree from the University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna and an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mikey Wang
Chief Technical Officer
Mikey Wang, the founding technologist and CTO of Press+ and Piano Media. Mr. Wang has spent his career leading highly successful software engineering teams for e-commerce, internet, and media companies. Prior to joining Press+, he served as VP of Engineering at eMusic.com, where he developed and maintained the company's e-commerce platform. He also held leadership positions at Thomas Publishing, dELiA*s, and iVillage.com. Mr. Wang holds a degree in Computer Sciences from Colgate University.
Peter Richards
Global Director, Sales & Business Development

Peter Richards is leading the expansion of Piano into new global markets. Mr. Richards has worked in a variety of industries helping companies and government institutions launch new products or enter new markets. He has been involved in five start-ups, including Carbon International, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) and Renaissance Technology Group. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, a certificate in Public Policy from the Legislative Studies Institute and has studied Environmental Management at Harvard University Extension School.

David Brauchli
Global Director, Communications
David Brauchli serves as Piano Media’s Chief Communications Officer responsible for Piano's public message. His responsibilities include representing Piano Media to the media and raising public awareness of the Piano Media brand. Brauchli was a professional news photographer for nearly 20 years and worked for Reuters, Agence France Press, European Pressphoto Agency, the Associated Press, the New York Times, Sygma, Corbis and helped found Newsmakers, the first online photo agency that was the nexus of Getty Images. Brauchli graduated from Syracuse University’s prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Journalism in 1986 with a degree in photojournalism and English Literature. Brauchli was three-times Pulitzer Prize Finalist for his work from Sarajevo, South Africa and Grozny.
Robert Neundlinger
Global Director, Analytics

Robert Neundlinger is Piano's Global Director, Analytics. He is tasked to improve and expand the Analytical services that Piano Media’s customers benefit from before and after launch.

He is responsible for helping Piano’s customers establish the risks and opportunities of entering the paid content space, as well as successfully growing their content monetization business. Mr. Neundlinger has worked for more than 15 years in Business Intelligence and Content Management and has considerable experience working for technology companies such as Microsoft, EMC, as well as MicroStrategy. He joined Piano from DP DHL’s Global Forwarding Division where he was Vice President for Business Intelligence and responsible for managing the Business Intelligence Competency Center for just over six years.

Mr. Neundlinger holds a degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Vienna.

Amy Dannin
Global Director, Product Management

Amy Dannin joins Piano Media as Global Director of Product Management and is responsible for the planning and implementation of the next generation of products for the company.

Prior to joining Piano, Ms. Dannin held various senior product management and development roles at Thomson Reuters and most recently as Vice President of Product Development at Dow Jones where she was responsible for several global product initiatives across the company. She has over 15 years in both the financial services and digital media industries where she has led numerous successful product launches and created "best of practice" product management organizations. Ms. Dannin received a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College.

Dana Venino
Executive Director for Client Services, North America

Dana Venino joined Piano Media in April, 2015 as Executive Director, Client Services North America, and oversees client relations in the United States and Canada. 

Venino joins Piano from IN Marketing Services where she served as Vice President in charge of Client Services and Business Operations. She has more than 19 years experience with strategic brand management and marketing, working with companies like Time Warner, the National Football League (NFL) and Walt Disney.

Ms. Venino holds a B.S. from Clemson University in Marketing and an MBA from Monmouth University.

Stuart Ashford
Executive Director Client Services, EMEA

Stuart Ashford is Piano Executive Director Client Services, EMEA and oversees client relations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Ashford joined Piano Media in 2013 from Hewlett Packard and has held various positions within the company including CTO and co-CEO. He has worked in IT management since 1999. His career has spanned various IT functions across organizations in South Africa, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and most recently Slovakia where he was the Site lead for Hewlett Packard's ITO shared services center responsible for over 1500 technology experts.

Ashford holds an MBA and is working on a Masters degree in Software engineering from the University of Liverpool in England and has a degree in genetics from Johannesburg's University of the Witwatersrand.
